Student Government has been one of the most impactful experiences I have had in college. My journey with the Oshkosh Student Association (OSA) began when I was a sophomore in college, where I was a club representative in the OSA Assembly. I immediately loved the process of writing and reviewing legislation, discussion, and interacting with university affairs.

After my first year, I ran for the Speaker of Assembly Pro-Tempore to ensure there was a female voice within the OSA Executive Board and to empower others. After serving my term, I then was elected as the Vice President of the Student Body.

As the Vice President, I assisted in planning course implementation during a pandemic; created weekly agendas and ran the student body senate; attended university meetings; wrote legislation, and volunteered at the university food pantry created by OSA.

Internships

Something I am most grateful for during my undergraduate journey is the internships I have had the opportunity to obtain. My first internship was with Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) where I reported to the District Director and helped plan events, write memos, and aid in constituent services.

My second internship was virtual with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-8). This provided me with experience such as attending telemeetings, writing weekly news updates, researching current policies, and assisting with virtual townhalls.

Lastly, I was an intern for the Campus Community Engagement Project where I created a virtual social media campaign to empower youth voters and encourage registering to vote.

Circle K

Circle K, a volunteer-based club provided me with great community relationships while also allowing me to give back. This organization scheduled various volunteer opportunities each weekend around Oshkosh that were not only beneficial for the community, but also fun for the club.

Some of my favorite volunteer opportunities were helping at the local food pantry, making scarves for kindergarteners, playing games with senior citizens, and being an election official (poll worker).

Circle K was a great experience and allowed me to get to know my community better.
